WORKING CONDITIONS OF OPHTHALMOLIGISTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT: EXPERTS CONDUCTED CERTIFICATION AT KOKSUMED

In August 2025, specialists from Specialized Expert Center KazProf LLP conducted a workplace certification at the KoksuMed ophthalmology clinic in the city of Taldykorgan.

The work of ophtalmologists requires exceptional recision and constant concentration. Doctors and medical personnel perform daily diagnostics and treatment of patients, utilize modern high-tech equipment, and operate under conditions of increased visual strain. This is precisely why evaluating working conditions in the clinic is of particular importance – it allows for the identification of factors that directly affect the health of specialists and the quality of medical care.

During the certification process, the experts inspected:

    • Lightning levels in the examination rooms and compliance with standards of operating ophthalmic instruments;
    • The microclimate of premises where patients are receieved and equipment is stored;
    • The ergonomics of workstations for doctors who conduct long appoinments and surgeries;
    • Factors concerning physical workload and mental strain when handling a large volume of patients.

The clinic’s staff actively participated in the process, asking questions about how to reduce visual and emotional strain, and sharing observations regarding the impact of bright lightning and prolonged work with specialized instruments.

Based on the results of the assessment, a detailed report was prepaired with practical recommendations – ranging from optimizing lighting and ventilation to improving the organization of work and rest intervals. All of these measures are aimed at ensuring that ophthalmologists and nurses can work in comfortable and safe enviroments, maintaining a high quality of medical care. Specialized Exper Center KazProf LLP continues to support medical organizations in Kazakhstan regarding occupational health and safety, helping to create conditions.
