Work in Metallurgy Without Risk: Experts Evaluated Working Conditions at "KazFerroStal"

In September 2025, specialists from Specialized Exper Center KazProf LLP conducted a comprehensive assessment of professional risks at the production sites of KazFerroSteel LLP.

The main objective of the assessment was to identify and analyze potential hazards and harmful factors that could affect the health and safety of workers, as well as to develop risk mitigation measures. As part of this work, working conditions were evaluated at key areas:

      • Operation and maintenance of lifting mechanisms;
      • Work with metallurgical equipment and high-temperature processes;
      • Organization of storage zones and transport operations;
      • Ensuring electrical safety;
      • Factors concerning injury safety, physical workload, and mental strain.

    Special attention was paid to the prevention of occupational injuries and to measures aimed at reducing exposure to adverse factors such as noise, dust, and high temperatures. During the analysis, the specialists utilized modern risk assessment methodologies to ensure a systematic approach to workplace safety.

    The enterprise’s workforce demonstrated great interest in the process: employees asked questions about which technical and organizational measures are most effective when working in high-hazard enviroments, and how the risk assessment will influence future improvements in working conditions.

    Based on the results of the assessment, a detailed report was prepared with recommendations on equipment modernization, strengthening safety controls during loading and unloading operations, optimizing shift schedules, and enhancing personnel training levels.
